The kitchen and living area have a cathedral ceiling and two story windows emitting daylong natural light into the space. The house has little need for daytime lamp use, as it is sited and fenestrated to make the most of the sun for lighting and the shade for cooling. The kitchen, pantry and bar area counters are made of a compressed recycled paper, reminiscent of slate or stone.
